Handel's 'Messiah'

The Culwick Choral Society invites you to a performance of Handel's 'Messiah' in the comfort of the RIAM's new concert hall, Westland Row, at 7 p.m. on May 16th 2025

Come and hear the full story, not just the Christmassy bits that form only ten per cent of the whole. Handel's best known oratorio is both dramatic and uplifting as he brings us from Old Testament prophecies of Messiah's birth, through his passion, death, resurrection and ascension.

The final section tells of the promise of eternal life, and the spread of the gospel. It contains the very striking bass aria 'The trumpet shall sound'. 'Messiah' ends with a powerful chorus of praise 'Worthy is the Lamb that was slain.'

SWIFTLY into a Culwick Christmas

This event took place for our Christmas celebration in St. Patrick's Cathedral on Wednesday 27 November 2024.

Aptly titled 'SWIFTLY into a Culwick Christmas', we sang a programme of music from the time of Jonathan Swift, along with more contemporary seasonal pieces.
